At A Glance
- Players: Any
- Setup Overhead: Low
- Minutes: 0
- Core Concept: Each player gets 90 random cards from which to build their 40 card decks.

Setup Requirements
Basically none, Just make sure to shuffle the entire cube thoroughly! That’s it!
How To Draft
No drafting involved, just distribute** 90 random cards to each player to form their pool. All cards from the 90-card pool not included in the main deck serve as a sideboard.
Recommendation
Sealed is great when you want to jump into some casual games quickly and don’t mind missing out of the fun and skill involved with drafting. It’s good for new players that don’t yet know what cards are good to draft and can get advice and help on deck-building. This is why sealed is the go to format for prereleases. Even with Sealed using double the card pool size versus draft (90 vs 45), decks built from draft are usually much stronger than sealed decks from the same cube.
90 random sealed cards vs 45 specifically drafted cards from 276 unique cards seen!
Here’s the math: 15+14+13+12+11+10+9+8=92 unique cards seen per round * 3 rounds => 276 unique cards (Picks after the 8th pack will be cards you’ve seen before)
Variations
- Team Sealed: Particularly useful for teams of 6 but this does increase the complexity of deck-building by quite a bit.
